TechCrunch reports that Twitter is in the midst of formally changing all of our "Update" buttons into "Tweet" buttons as their graphic above shows.
This is what we call "product branding." You see, before, we were "updating our statuses" just like all those lameos over at Facebook. But now we are officially "tweeting." That is an action that cannot be infringed upon without serious trademark violations!
So from now on, there is no denying that sending an 140 character message is "tweeting!"
Well, unless you are using a text message. Then I guess it's called "texting."
So basically, sending a message via Twitter is tweeting. But we already knew that. So what have we really gained here?
Did anyone even realize that button said "Update" before all this?? I'm suddenly feeling like checking my Myspace account…
